Dear Parents and Caregivers

We hope that you and your whanau are having a great week.  This panui has a health focus and is also to remind you about hybrid learning/school closures.

Rain Jackets

Please ensure that your child packs/wears their rain jacket each day, especially on the cold and wet mornings.  We have a number of tamariki arriving with no jacket, which means that they arrive and are cold/wet.  All children received a KidsCan jacket.  However, any jacket will do.

Morning Tea/Snacks

We have more and more tamariki arriving at BMPS with no kai.  While we do have fruit and lunches, we ask that all children bring a few healthy snacks to school in case we run out of fruit or if your child does not eat lunch.  Tamariki should also bring a bottle of water each day.

Masks

We still have some Covid-19 in our community.  One of the ways that we keep BMPS tamariki and staff safe is by wearing a mask.  We ask that all year 4+ (who do not have an exemption) and all adults who come onsite wear a mask.  BMPS masks can be bought from the office for $8.50.

We have more and more parents on our grounds who are not wearing a mask.  Please, if you are visiting us, please wear a mask.

Keeping Our Tamariki Safe

Please, please do not park on our neighbour’s driveways or where there are yellow lines.  Our amazing road patrol monitors need to be able to see cars and our tamariki need to be able to walk on the paths without cars being parked across them.

HYBRID LEARNING/SCHOOL CLOSURE

We would like to remind you that there may come a time when BMPS needs to move to hybrid learning for a while.  This means that we would ask some of our classes/children to stay home and to learn online or from a learning pack.  This will happen if we are unable to staff numerous classes in our school.

BMPS is and will continue to do everything possible to avoid closing the school.  However, if we are at the stage where we do not have enough staff to make it safe to look after our tamariki, we may need to close BMPS for a short time.

In both instances, we would endeavour to look after the tamariki of families who are not able to keep their children at home.

Please be aware that if we move to hybrid learning or need to close the school, you may only be told about it the day before the change takes place.
