Dear Parents and Caregivers

What a fantastic week we had at BMPS last week, from our whole school trip to Ōtara Reserve, fantastic fun within our kura and then our trips to Auckland Zoo. It was a week of great learning and great fun. Here are a few photos for you to enjoy:

We have a very happy caretaker at BMPS. He LOVES his new ‘toy.’

This term at BMPS we have a focus on Te Reo Maori, learning about our culture and where we come from. This week we welcomed tumuaki/principals from other Auckland kura/schools who are on the same learning journey. Our visitors received a beautiful welcome to BMPS by these beautiful tamariki who also shared their pepeha with our guests. I would like to give a special mention to Tiaki who did the mihimihi/ opening welcome to our tumuaki in Te Reo Maori. It was tumeke!

Keeping Our Tamariki Safe

Please, please do not park on our neighbour’s driveways or where there are yellow lines. Our amazing road patrol monitors need to be able to see cars and our tamariki need to be able to walk on the paths without cars being parked across them.

Masks

We still have some Covid-19 in our community. One of the ways that we keep BMPS tamariki and staff safe is by wearing a mask. We ask that all year 4+ (who do not have an exemption) and all adults who come onsite wear a mask. BMPS masks can be bought from the office for $8.50.

Pink Shirt Day

This Friday we invite all tamariki to wear something pink and to bring a gold coin to donate to ‘Pink Shirt Day.’
